8 November 2007 (I will translate this entry some other time)

Today, I woke up at 9.00am. I woke up late today because I slept late last night. By the time I woke up, there was no one else around in the house, except for my sister and I. My mother had gone to church earlier for a meeting. My father was still in Sydney, but he came back later today. Therefore, I was "parent-free" until 3pm.

I went to play basketball downstairs with myself. So at least I exercised. But my effort will definitely be wasted very soon.

I cannot cook for nuts. Not even cook half a dish. I have to say this after Jean's and my lunch was almost destroyed. My mother had cooked some chicken porridge early in the morning for our lunch. She told us to heat it up a bit before eating it. Then came lunchtime. I took the initiative to heat up the porridge before both Jean and I starved to death waiting for each other to "lose" the game of waiting. So, I heated the porridge and turned the fire extra large to minimise waiting time. I then went to the study room to balance/stack 4 batteries on top of eeach other. I had so much fun till I forgot all about the porridge. Many minutes later, I realised I was famished. Then, I got a shock when I remembered that the porridge was still undergoing intense heating. I leapt off the chair and sprinted to the kitchen where I vigourously turned off the gas tap. Oh yes, and I heated the porridge with the cover still on. I'm thankful the porridge didn't explode, nor did the kithchen catch fire. Then, I saw that the porridge was still white. I heaved a sigh of relief. So, I scooped out the porridge into the 2 bowls. Sudenly, I saw brown and black substance at the bottom of the pot's internal walls. My eyeballs nearly flew out of their sockets. I didn't know what to do next. That's when Jean STARTED to help with preparing lunch. I thought the whole pot was a gone case. So she suggested using the metal scrub to scrub the burnt porridge off the pot. The substance managed to come off after I scraped very hard. I may think twice about cooking anoher meal, but I'll still maintain interest in balancing batteries.

3.00pm eventually arrived. My parents came back at 10 minute intervals. My father brought back nougats, macademia nuts and some other food related items. I had a wonderful time eating some of them. He told me he sat on the Airbus A380. Cool. I want to sit there someday too. But more importantly, I want to be an engineer too.

At around late afternoon, my dad, Jean and I went cycling. My mom can't cycle so she opted out. Three of us can quite master "no handed" cycling. But there's always room for improvement. We cycled around Bishan. We went through Bishan Park and wen to Junction 8 to buy some drinks and complete a few shopping tasks from mom. Then, we cycled back home. So a total of 2 forms of active exercise today. I also ended up having a "butt-ache" (if there's such a thing) after riding the bike for so long. (Does a butt have muscles or are they just filled with fats?)

For dinner, my mom cooked. So at least it was not as disasterous as lunch.

2007年11月1日

今天我8.30就起身了。妈妈很早就到公园跑步了。我就预备了自己的早餐。过后,我做了一部分的学校假期功课。不知为什么,我差点儿已经忘记了这一年所学到的新知识。考试后,我好像已经把学到的东西忘得一干二净。幸好学校有交待我们一些假期功课。不然,明年开学时,我一定会感到非常困难。因为本来已经学到的知识已经忘记了。

下午时分,我和妹妹到小提琴老师的家学小提琴。小提请老师说我今天的表现比以前六年的每个星期的表现比较好。当老师称赞我小提请得技巧有很大的进步时,我雀跃万分。我妹妹却好像吃了酸溜溜的葡萄一样,闷闷不乐

今晚,爸爸有点儿迟才回家。这是因为地铁暂停操作。结果,我,妈妈和妹妹需要等他回家,才能一起吃晚餐。所以现在,我正在一边等爸爸回家吃饭,一边写这篇日记。
